Visits & Online Experiences
While our in-person visits and campus tours are limited, there are still many dynamic opportunities for you to learn about our thriving academic community from home. Attend an informational webinar about our university or a specific academic program, schedule a one-on-one video chat with a current student or an admissions counselor, and more. We’re excited to connect with you!

Get Credit for What You’ve Learned
Gain academic credit for skills and knowledge you've acquired through work, community service, or life experience. The Office for Prior Learning Assessment offers qualified students exams, reviews of professional credentials, and an academic portfolio process, all of which can save you time and money as you earn your degree.

Flexible Online Programs
We understand the need to balance your academic goals with a busy schedule and personal commitments. Taught by USM faculty, our online programs meet the same rigorous standards as our traditional, on-campus degree programs, and include comprehensive student support services and academic advising.

Convenient Online Courses
Get the flexibility you need to take classes from anywhere, on your own schedule. We offer over 650 online courses throughout the year. Whether you’re starting a degree or certificate program, or enhancing your professional skill set, an online course is a practical way to advance your standing.
Meet Our Accomplished Faculty
Connect with dedicated professors who are highly accomplished in their fields and actively engaged in our communities. Our faculty provide students with valuable learning opportunities, including internships, research, and service learning projects throughout the southern Maine region. As teachers, mentors, and advisors, they are committed to supporting your academic goals.

Support for Veterans and Their Families
As a military-friendly campus, we are proud to support veterans, service members, and their families. Veterans Services can help you navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs educational benefits (the GI Bill) process. Our Veterans Upward Bound program offers eligible veterans individualized assistance to make a successful transition from the military to the classroom.
