Text from “Ode to Bookscrap” by Mark Ford

Bookscrap is bold news! Bookscrap is great news! It’s never old news, never fake news.

Bookscrap is found, unbound and the other way around. It’s figure and ground,

consonant and vowel sound.

Bookscrap is hardcore and hard to ignore.

It’s what’s in store,

pas encore et comme toujours;

It’s postwar from the dollar store,

Voldemort and Dumbledore.

Bookscrap is brawn. Bookscrap is brains. It’s proper work and what remains.
