The USM logo includes the pillar symbol or icon with the words University of Southern Maine to the right. It is the only mark that should be used to represent the University of Southern Maine (USM) on all University documents and marketing communications. It can also be used on USM products, merchandise, and apparel. The logo should be clearly readable and not separated into parts, altered in proportion, printed in color combinations other than those found in the USM Style Guide, or combined with text or another image.

USM Logo for Print Use
Print materials require a larger file size than those used for digital or web with a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch). Print files often use the CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color mode.
Print projects include posters, banners, brochures, postcards, notecards, and even clothing.
USM Logo for Web Use
Logos used for web and digital materials are displayed on computer screens at 72 ppi (pixels per inch) and use the RGB (red, green, blue) color mode. Images for digital use require smaller files than those used for print projects. NOTE: CMYK color images will not display properly in web browsers.
Web or digital projects include Power Point presentations, PDFs for the web, image sliders, promo boxes, email newsletters, and video projects.
