CTEL offers the following grants programs during AY17-18 to support teaching and learning initiatives that can lead to high-quality learning experiences for students at USM.
Please note: All grants are open to both full- and part-time faculty.
Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Grants
Up to $100 per faculty, per academic year is available for purchase of hardware, software, and other resources to support teaching and learning initiatives. Faculty teaching classes in face-to-face, blended, and online formats are encouraged to apply.
CTEL Course Design/Redesign Grants
CTEL offers up to 15 Course Design/Redesign grants each semester (Fall, Summer, and Spring). Each grant is up to $1,500 per course and brings together a cohort of faculty to participate in a Community of Practice (CoP) model of course development. Each grant cohort will have a specific focus and specific criteria for grant eligibility, to be announced with the call for proposals.
Learning Innovation Grants
CTEL invites faculty to apply for funding to support projects that involve innovative digital teaching and learning approaches. CTEL supports up to 6 of these projects a year, with each project awarded up to $1,500. Collaborative proposals involving multiple courses and faculty are encouraged and can be eligible for larger grant amounts.
